Our Mission
At Brain 4 Life, our mission is to preserve and enhance brain health by preventing neurological decline, supporting recovery from brain injuries, and advancing research & education in brain science. We aim to be a leader in brain health solutions, from prevention to rehabilitation.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that brain health is critical to an individual’s overall well-being. We are committed to respecting the dignity, preferences, and rights of those we serve. Discrimination based on any factor has no place in our organisation, and we offer care that respects each person's unique neurological needs and goals.
Get Support Now
The Concussion Legacy Foundation HelpLine supports those across Australia struggling with the outcomes of brain injury by providing personalised help. “We must understand how to prevent CTE, diagnose it during life and treat those affected as quickly as possible. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to stop this disease.”
Brain 4 Life is on a journey to improve the brain health of all Australians. Co-founded by Colin Scotts, the first ever Australian drafted into the NFL, we are committed as a not-for-profit to preventing, researching and supporting those impacted by Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).
Suffering multiple concussions and head knocks from his time in Rugby, NFL, and wrestling, Colin has a deep understanding of how important it is to advocate for player safety. Tragically, he has seen many of his teammates pass away due to brain-related diseases. It is for this reason that we are dedicated to putting a spotlight on the mental health and cognitive decline issues often faced by players.
PARTNERS
Building better brain health through collaboration
Brain 4 Life has partnered with a number of organisations to share knowledge and research, support holistic care for those affected by brain trauma and strengthen outcomes for brain health, both nationally and internationally.
We have also teamed up with a number of high profile ambassadors who share in our dedication to increasing prevention, research and support in the area of CTE.
"As a specialist in neuropathology, I have witnessed firsthand the effects traumatic brain injury can have on individuals and their loved ones. I wholeheartedly support B4L’s mission in preserving and enhancing brain health by preventing neurological decline, supporting recovery from brain injuries, and advancing education in brain science."
- Michael Buckland MBBS PhD FRCPA FFSc (RCPA)
"CTE symptoms are known to often present in the way of mental health challenges; including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, working memory deficits, substance abuse and suicide. It is essential that we protect our community; particularly our young people, through education, prevention and holistic well-being support. I have been particularly impressed by Brain 4 Life’s passion to preserve brain health, including working memory, through their mission to educate, prevent and support individuals affected by sports-related brain injury and CTE symptoms."
